Family Mediation – a new beginning?
Is Family Mediation a new beginning? It can be. It can be the beginning of the end of disputes in your relationship and the start of a different way of doing things that supports rather than destroys you and your family.
As we roll into September, we often get that ‘Back to School’ feeling. September feels like the opportunity for a new start. Perhaps its spurred on by seeing your children all shiny and excited about starting at a ‘big’ school or their excitement of choosing new satchels, pencil boxes and lunch bags, but its often easy to get swept away by the ‘what if’ of September.
Sometimes change is the right thing. Sometimes you’ve tried to make things work but they aren’t panning out the way you’d hoped. There comes a time when you just have to change things up a bit.
And it is ok to change things. Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Here at Your Family First, we are changing things.
September sees us becoming part of Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors. We will still continue to see clients in York, Selby and Malton, offering Family Mediation, Coaching and Counselling for a wide range of issues including Children, Finances, Teen issues, Older Client Care and Grandparent applications.
You may notice that we also have an updated website and a new animation that explains just what Family Mediation is all about, how it works and how it can help you. Your Family First Family Mediation
Sometimes the end of a relationship is a new beginning. Its the beginning of making changes that affect the whole family, it the beginning of a new way of parenting and a new way of thinking about family life.
Research shows us that September sees a surge in the number of people searching the term ‘divorce’ on Google. Is one of them you?
Did you know that you don’t have to wait until your relationship has completely broken down before you use mediation. You can come anytime. (Public Funding is only available if there is a legal dispute).
Using Mediation early on in your relationship breakdown really can save you time and money. Have you been trying to resolve conflict on your own and it just isn’t working? Yes, we are back to Einstein’s quote again!
Many people try and avoid coming to mediation because they worry about the cost. Mediation is cheaper than exclusively using a lawyer. Coming to Mediation means that you won’t need to visit your lawyer as often.
Mediation – what’s not to like?
- Wouldn’t you like to save time and money in your divorce?
- Wouldn’t you like to be able to stay in control of the decisions you need to make?
- Wouldn’t you like to be able to ay what you think and feel in a way that means you are heard?
So, as you send the children back to school, and you begin to ponder about whether divorce is for you, consider Family Mediation as a way forward.
